Phase 1: Getting off to a bad start
When we started searching for flats in Singapore, one of the first things we did was to reach out to an expat group on Facebook. We were quickly contacted by this guy. We were under the impression that he was a property agent – but we later realized it was his wife who was the agent. Nevertheless, it was him who was the one contacting us, and recommending properties.

Things got even more bizarre: this person sent us pictures of a few apartments, but the prices were extraordinarily high. When we asked him why the prices were so exorbitant, he simply disappeared and never contacted us again. Was he a fake agent? We didn’t know for sure, but it definitely seemed to be the case.
Phase 2: Getting a highly recommended property agent in Singapore via Propseller
After doing more research, we stumbled upon Propseller and contacted the team to learn more. The person who spoke to was very helpful and answered all the questions we had. We told him what we were looking for and he recommended us a property agent, Tammy, to work with. The process was easy and straightforward, and it was great that we finally found someone reliable.

Phase 3: Looking for our dream apartment
We initially wanted to come to Singapore earlier so that we would have more time to apartment-hunt – but this was no longer necessary. Tammy sent us a few listings while we were in France, and it was easy to communicate with her electronically so that she could start narrowing down our options before we even arrived.
Once we landed in Singapore in December, we started visiting the various neighborhoods with Tammy and getting to know the country better. Immediately, we could see why Tammy was a highly recommended property agent in Singapore – she was highly dedicated and spent a lot of time introducing us to the various neighborhoods even though it was the Christmas period.
Phase 4: Negotiating and making arrangements
Before long, we found an apartment which was suitable – it was a duplex-style condominium called The Icon. We loved the layout of the place, and it was within budget as well. The only problem was that the condo was unfurnished.
At this point, Tammy stepped in and negotiated with the owner so that we could purchase furniture, with him covering the cost. She also got him to agree to take care of maintenance costs of the air-conditioning, which was the cherry on top of the cake. We signed the lease, and the next step was to check the apartment and make sure everything was in order.

Again, Tammy was really proactive. She pointed out everything in the apartment which was old or run-down and requested for the flat owner to fix all of these items. If we had done this by ourselves, we would definitely have missed out a lot of details. This means we’d end up having to bear certain repair costs ourselves.
Working with Tammy and Propseller

If you’re looking for a highly recommended property agent in Singapore, Tammy is definitely the one. Thank you, Propseller, for introducing her to us!
