Frédéric, Sandra and their two 8 and 10 years old children left the apartment they owned in Paris and landed in Singapore for a new chapter of their lives. After a few weeks trying to find a new home with the property agent appointed by Sandra’s employer, they ended up skipping it and found their new home with a real estate tenant’s agent recommended by Propseller. Searching for a home with the company’s appointed agent
We heard about the Singaporean concept of “apartment hunter”, called “Tenant’s Agent” here and were attracted by this service. Hopefully, we thought, Sandra’s employer had appointed us a tenant’s agent.
Apartments selected by the company’s appointed agent were matching our criteria objectively but it just didn’t suit our taste. It was like if the details we mentioned were not taken into account. For example, the light, the floor, the colors, the decoration. There was always something wrong, despite seeing many units.

Switching to the Propseller recommended agent
When we realized we could engage a tenant’s agent without having to pay him/her a commission, we decided to change our approach and try an agent recommend by Propseller: Tammy.

She brought us around and after a few viewings only, we selected a vintage and recently renovated condo in the Bukit Timah area. The apartment has a nice floor plan, beautiful materials, and modern style… Exactly what we were looking for!
Administrative steps were also extremely fast and easy. From viewing to moving date, it was only ten days.
A curated selection of properties makes a big difference
Reflecting on the experience we had with the two property agents, what was the difference?
Firstly, I believe that with Tammy, her experience working with expatriates helped her a lot in understanding what we were looking for, despite us not being very clear at communicating it.
Secondly, Tammy really spent some time choosing the unit she wanted to bring us to. We visited a curated selection of apartments that matched our French Taste instead of standard criteria list like we could have found ourselves on property listing websites.

After spending 10 years in Paris, looking for a new home in a new country was not an easy thing for us. Gratefully, we got all the help we needed. Thank you Propseller!
