First, find one of the best expat property agent for my area
I started searching for information about properties in Singapore quite sometime before landing. And I quickly realized two important things. Firstly, searching for an apartment as an expatriate can be quick and easy or it can be a nightmare full of unpleasant surprises. Secondly, I noticed unexplained important price disparities for similar apartments on property listing websites like PropertyGuru and 99.co. It was clear to me I wanted to hire an agent, a good one, to help me find something quickly, without surprises and at a good price.

The day before my departure, I found a blog post about a new platform connecting prospective clients to top real estate agents in Singapore: Propseller. I started a search for an agent and the Propseller team called me back immediately, provided invaluable pieces of advice about local Singapore estate market practices and ended up recommending one the best expat property agent for my area: Tammy.
A few hours later, she contacted me via WhatsApp. We agreed to meet and to start viewings the following Wednesday.
Second, find the best apartment
Tammy picks me up at the hotel at 9 am on a Monday morning, just on time. We spend the day visiting. The units can be very different, but they all correspond to my criteria: 2 rooms, big terrace, lively location… They are all very beautiful. Tammy has an excellent knowledge of the districts and of the units she presents me: for each unit, she knows the exact margins for price negotiation.
The relationship is very natural, with a direct approach. I do not hesitate to share my remarks for each unit and she takes note of everything. She knows the landlord’s agents in most of the cases, which facilitate largely the things. At 5:00 pm, our tour is complete and the first apartment we saw is not only perfect but the one I prefer. So we go for a second viewing to confirm my decision.

Misfortune! When we arrive at the apartment, it’s already too late, a couple is drafting a Letter of Intent (LOI) with the landlord. I take Tammy aside and confirm her that it is really the apartment I want and ask her to do what she can to get it for me. She talks a bit in mandarin with the other agent and the landlord and we leave the place.
Only thirty minutes later, Tammy sends me a message confirming that if I could proceed with the transfer today, the apartment was mine! I agreed, but only if I can get the keys Wednesday or three days later.
And she did it. I visited on Monday, signed on Tuesday, got the keys on Wednesday. All the furnitures and groceries were delivered on Thursday!

Third, enjoy a superb apartment at excellent price and record speed
Thus, I am the tenant of a completely new apartment, 3 bedrooms, in a condo with incredible facilities situated at the heart of one of the best districts of the city: Outram Park.
The experience with Propseller was exceptional. I believe I’ve beaten all the records in terms of speed to find an apartment in Singapore. My agent, Tammy, is in contact to check that everything goes well in my new accommodation. I have difficulties to see how my experience could have been better. Thank you Propseller!
